Prayer Answered at the Front Door

In 2010 a Tree fell on our House.  Because of the damage to the House we were forced to move.  We had no many saved at that time and we were totally dependant on God’s provision for my Wife and I.

 About a Month after the tree fell We were totally broke and had many bills to pay. We had know idea how We were going to pay them. Our faith in God was strong, but our Human nature of worry was begining to take over as the due dates of our Bills were fast approaching, and some already had come and passed.

 My Wife has bulging disks in her back. As you can imagine this is already very painful, the Stress of the unpaid bills was causing her back to be in more pain than usual.  While I was in the shower I prayed to God and asked Him to bring some relief to my Wife, even if it was only for a brief time.

 5 minutes after I finished my shower the door bell rang. It was a neighbor from across the road.  She handed me an envelope and told us that God had instructed her to give it to us.  She told us to have a good night and God bless. She then turned and walked away. After our neighbor left my Wife and I opened the envelope and it contained $150.00 and a scripture in it.

1 John 3:17 & 18 :     If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

 My Wife and I sat in silence with tears in our eyes for about 10-15 minutes. We both were in shock, and had an  overwhelming  presence of the Holy Spirit.

 I learned many things that day. God hears our prayers. Our actions speak louder than words when we share God’s love with others. Never give up hope. Always Trust God because He is in control.

 God doesn’t always answer our  Prayers that fast, or in a way that is as evident as this one was. Many times God answers our prayers in ways we don’t understand. I can tell you that God is listening and He cares. Keep faith, and rest in Him.

Proverbs 3:5 & 6:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
